This guide is organized by the kind of person you're shopping for. We're not going to name specific products, because what's on our shelves changes week to week. Instead, use this to figure out which part of the menu to browse, then ask one of our budtenders to help you narrow it down.
For the one who's new to cannabis
Maybe they've been curious for a while. Keep it simple and approachable.
- Pre-rolls are ready to go, with no grinding or rolling involved. Smaller pre-rolls and multi-packs let them try a few different options.
- Edibles come in clearly measured doses, which makes it easier to know what you're getting. Look for lower-dose options.
- Tell our budtenders it's for a beginner. They'll point you to options that are easier to start with.
If you're gifting edibles, pass along the golden rule: start low and go slow. Edibles can take an hour or more to kick in, so wait before taking more.
For the flower connoisseur
This is the person who talks about aroma and knows what a terpene is. They'll appreciate something they haven't tried yet.
- Flower is the classic pick. Ask a budtender what's new or what they'd grab for someone who has tried everything.

- Match the dose to their experience. A seasoned edible fan and an occasional one want very different things.
- Keep the packaging intact. Edibles should stay in their original packaging, so wrap the box instead of repackaging what's inside.
- Store them locked up and away from anyone under 21, and make sure your recipient knows what they're opening.
For the one who likes to unwind at home
For the friend whose ideal night is the couch, a blanket, and something good on TV.
- Vapes are discreet and simple to use, with no rolling or lighting up involved.
- Edibles fit a slow night in, with the same start-low-and-go-slow reminder.

For the host
The friend who has everyone over. Think about variety, and remember that any consumption should happen at a private residence, never in public.

Know the rules
Gifting cannabis in Massachusetts is legal between adults, with conditions:
- 21+ only, on both sides. You and the person you're giving it to both need to be 21 or older.
- No payment of any kind. A gift is a gift. Massachusetts law allows adults to give up to two ounces to another adult 21+ without remuneration, and it can't be sold, traded, or advertised.
- Keep it in the original packaging. It keeps the product labeled and sealed, which matters for storage and for transport.
- Keep it sealed in the car. Unopened packaging or the trunk. Never consume in a car, and never drive high.
- It stays in Massachusetts. Don't take it across state lines, even to another legal state, and don't mail or ship it.
- No public consumption. Enjoy at a private residence.
